I have a swim ladder with a small platform (15" x 17"). To access the boat from the water you climb the ladder, stand on the platform and step onto the lazarette. The platform consists of 3 layers of dilapidated white plastic cutting boards. Very unsightly. I want to replace with wood. Teak, of course, comes to mind. Anyone else used a different hardwood that has stood up to sun, saltwater, etc.?

Ipe is as durable as teak and cheaper if you can find the size you need.

Hi Scrawley!
Just a suggestion…
West Marine has some solid 1/2” and 3/4” thick anti skid surfaced Starboard you might want to consider.
Generally stronger and more durable with less maintenance than wood.
Best Regards

Roughly Starboard is about the same to x1-1/4 the weight as marine ply but never rots/delaminates/(nor requires refinishing and comes in a couple of colors if desired)
