Ray I'm surprised he did not sell that hull or someone did not try to buy it unless it was a defective Hull & rather than cutting it up for shreaded fiberglass he decided to put it on the roof for a great advertising stunt

Good morning all! An update on my continuous search for a 26M. I have been monitoring quite a few sales sites in my search. Two observations I have discovered is that most sales sites do not delete old sale posts from their sites thus clouding the waters quite a bit. I inquired about a 26M the other day only to find that the vessel was sold 7 years ago. :( The second observation is the fluctuation in price/value depending on geographical region. Is there a way to accurately determine the value of the vessel or does it ultimately fall on the perspective buyer to determine what its worth to him/her? Anyway.....I'm still searching. I am still holding onto the hope that a well maintained late model 26M will become available at a decent price and hour down the road from me. Hey,,,,one can dream right? :D

Don't be afraid to tow it home from a far off destination.

The longest haul I read was a fellow in Alaska who towed it home from a purchase in Florida. I believe Kevin towed his :macx: back to Pennsylvania from a purchase in New Mexico. When Chinook went on the Loop, he towed his :macx: from Washington State to Illinois just to start the trip.

For several years I towed my :macm: 280 miles to the Adirondacks in NY.
Have Mac, will travel. :)

Hi Kev,

I was much in the same situation last year. I ended up sending postcards to all the registered Mac owners in Texas (public info here) and asked if they were willing to part with theirs.

I did end up buying ours at auction in VA, but I had a number of positive responses from the postcards. One guy just reached out last week, wanting to sell his. If TX isn't too far, I could put you in touch.

If you'd rather buy local, maybe similar public info is available in your state.

Thanks Piddle! Sure! I'd love to speak to them. Currently talking with a guy in N.C. so we'll see how that pans out.
