Sorry I can't find the documents at present - doing my annual paperwork tidy up at the moment. My boat is a bit under insured at 21K but from pencil notes I have here it looks like I paid an annual premium of a bit less than $400 ($100 excess) and that was about $60 less than what I had been paying at Trident - Trident pulled out of insuring trailer sailers. Your X's & M's are of course worth a lot more than my S.

Without comparing essential overages, it's not an apples to apples comparison by just saying "I pay this much." What is the coverage for hull and equipment, towing and assistance, boat trailer, personal effects, boating liability, medical payments, fuel and other spill liability, uninsured boater Also, is the coverage for six months or a year There are insurance companies playing that game with car insurance.

Agreed. And it's not just price and coverage. Does the insurance company know what it's about, etc.? Another X with another insurance company put in an insurance claim and had problem with the adjuster - who didn't understand why just part of the rub rail couldn't be replaced, rather than all of it. I do not own stock in Boat US's partner Geicom Marine, but they were pretty competent and easy to deal with. The 10% off of my deductable for every year I went without a claim was nice icing on the cake. When I did have to file a claim - no deductible.

Ok, my X's rub rail finaly got done. My previous policy had lapsed in April and Geico said they could not insure me until my X's repairs were done. So I called today and my new policy is actually a few bucks lower than my old policy. An unexpected pleasant surprise.
