drop keel rigging
drop keel rigging
Finally going to get my 26m on the water . I bought it with a busted keel. got a fresh one and now I need to know how to rig it. can someone send pics of the rigging so I can duplicate it? Also the pivot for the mast seems very loose to me. How much play is normal ? I may need a new one. Thanks for the help. Paul

Re: drop keel rigging
Do you mean just rigging lines for the daggerboard, or the complete running rigging setup for the M?

The resources section of this site has manuals etc. for your boat.
https://www.macgregorsailors.com/resources.html
The mast rotating on the base should not have much play in it. If you remove the plate on the bottom of the mast you can tighten it to proper tension.
Factory used a few washers as "bearings". Under weight and pressure they don't work very well.
BWY sells a bearing kit that works very well.

It's basically just a thrust bearing. If you buy it from BWY, vs. hardware store, you will get the right sizing.
