Hi guys,
I have a teak shelf that was mounted by screwing it directly into the liner on the port side near the companionway. The road vibration has caused it to fall off a couple times. I tried double sided tape and larger screws, Nope. I tried epoxying stainless threaded washers. Nope they popped off. I saw on a post at some point in time that someone used a track mount. Really cool. What have you guys used? Sometimes you need to reach out to the think tank.
Note: The space between the liner and the hull is really tight. Rivnuts will not work. In fact the PO drove the screws so the heads just protruded the hull. I found out by tearing up my buffer pads. He used drywall screws!!

Can you post some photos of this shelf? Mostly to see what the back looks like.
What I’m wondering is if after lightly sanding the liner for adhesion, you 5200 a thin strip of wood to the liner, and then screw the shelf onto that.

Ditto on the photos. A picture would help.
I would think epoxy might be your best option. Prepping is key as the fiberglass has some wax or other substance they use in the mold to keep it from sticking.

Epoxy can work well; flexibility is important, there is a lot of flexing on boats
5200 is permanent. 4200 can be removed if changes are desired.
