I have a 2014 Tattoo 26, this is my second season with it. I installed BWY quick-release steering upgrade this year. During the installation I noticed that my engine (60hp Etec) turned sharper starboard than to port. It turned out that the steering linkage that comes through the transom wall would thit the wall before the engine turned completely in one direction. I checked the steering wheel rotations lock to lock and was able to go 1-1/2 turns clockwise from engine dead center and only 1 turn ccw from engine centered. I disconnected the engine steering arm from inside the boat and tried again. I could then go 1-1/2 turns in both directions. It turns out that the steering link-arm hits the wall and there is still 1" of travel left.
Does anyone else have this problem or is it unique to my boat?
