Has anyone changed over to turnbuckles on their rigging? If so what size and were there any problems?

Bruce,
Since there have been no replies so far, I thought I'd give you an opinion, but it is purely that.
My Catalina 22 had turnbuckles. The only drawback to having them on a trailer boat is that they are subject to getting bent much easier than the shroud adjusters that come on the MacX. Once one gets bent, it's not a good idea to straighten it and continue using it. So, if you switch over to them, get a couple spares.
One other thing................
On the Catalina it seemed that I was re-adjusting the rig often. With the MacX, though the shroud adjusters are a little more bothersome to work with, they positively stay set, once you've adjusted the rig. Only need to re-check the adjustment about once per year.
I don't know if this is because the rig on the Catalina was different, or if it was the turnbuckles backing off. The C-22 has straight spreaders and forward and aft lowers. It is also a masthead rig. You have to unhook the forestay AND the forward uppers, to lower the mast. This could account for having to adjust the rig more, but I'm not sure on that.
Hopefully this helps some.
