Post by scott vos »

We will be storing our boat at MDR beginning Nov 1st. We can do any date except Thanksgiving weekend.(20+ family at our house every year)

Looking forward to seeing as many MAC's that can be their. We made the San Juan Flotilla this July and had a wonderful time. Stayed on the Mac for 24 nights.
Has there been a consensus on a date or dates in November yet?? I'll keep watching the post

Well Scott, so far there are two boats in for the weekend of Nov 12th, but I'm not sure if that counts as a consenus? I too am pretty open, so if another date works better, feel free to propose it. But I think unless someone says that they would make it, but can't due to the Nov 12th date, then maybe we should keep the 12th and see if anyone is interested?

I am in too. There is a small chance I may have to be down south, away from the boat..but we will stop by and spend the day. Hoping for nice weather.

Well OK, it looks like there is enough interest to get something together in 3 weeks. I'm not sure how often people check this site, so if you know Mac owners who would be interested let them know right away.

Our group will include three or four teenagers. I hope that more folks bring kids.

I just called Inmon Yachts to let them know that they will be hosting!

Mike Inmon is thrilled that we getting together and he is checking to see if BBQs will be allowed on the ramp parking. Otherwise, we move to his parking lot. I will see him tomorrow.

Yeah, ok, so who else is coming?

MDR get together

Post by Sailfish »

I will be there just got my boat and also will be keeping it at the MDR storage. I will take possesion of the boat 10-28-05. I'm a little nervous about being around a group that soon but know how much I could learn from the group. :D

The best thing I did when I first got my Mac to was get in with some good guys that already were experienced Mac sailors. (wait...did I just call myself a good guy? :? oh well), It will cut down on the learning curve tremendously.

It will also be good to have your "virgin" Mac there and you will get a chance to see first hand all the mods that we have made that way you can do better than read the description on the website but really get a feel for what works.

So if you get your boat on 10-28-05, I guess you will have....what...5 to 10 outings by the time we meet? :D

Actually I wish I could be there since I missed the Ch.Islands earlier this summer. I'd easily choose to tow for a a couple days (RT) since I'd also take the chance to scoot over to Catalina. But travel continues as the bane of my boating. Luckily I have a good connection this weekend in Japan, but missed it all last week, elsewhere in Asia. Then on your chosen date, I'll be across that other ocean to the east.

Hello all. I spoke to the Admiral and despite an incredible list of other duties that are time sensitive, we will come to MDR on Saturday. November 12. I received a personal invitation from Mark Karagianis who happens to live only about 15 miles from me and after reading all the postings, I can't miss this. I will launch 8-9 am on Sat and look forward to BBQ at the end of the day. Is Mike Inmon still hosting?? See everyone there. 8)

We can;t control the wind,
but we can adjust our sails.
Blessed be the wind.

Your $7.50 (there's a guy there to collect the $ but if he isn't the machine only accepts $1s and $5s!) buys 48 hours of parking - beyond that it says to contact the parking authority. Couple of months ago a Mac group (3 Macs, 2 others) from Arizona found out the hard way & got big tickets for their week-long stay in the ramp.

We are going to have terrific weather with a high of 67 and full sun! Great to hear about everyone that is showing up! Don't forget to bring your BBQ & tools.
