Suggested Factory Options?

Michael....GREAT to see you are making Plunge and getting a M! I had a great time taking you out on the Enterprise Sea....you two were actually my last guests, since it sold the next day to Bill Warnock!

So now that makes two people who went from a boat ride with me to making the purchase of a New Mac!...heck, I should see what it takes and become a DEALER!

I would definitely go with a Roller Furler on the headsail. AND don't under estimate the pure JOY you will get from adding things to your boat and working on it yourself! You will be amazed in what you can actually DO yourself with the help of the good folks on this site...Moe helped me out and reviewed/edited my electrical diagram and others here have given me the tips necessary to do far more than I would have ever thought possible.....

Just wanted to comment on a few items.

To get the mainsail down, even with the halyard run aft, you still have to go to the mast to pull it down unless you have another line rigged to do that. It's still nice to have the halyard aft though for raising it.

I think the mast bearing is relatively inexpensive so it might be worth it. I had some trouble with mine rotating but with a little lube and adjusting the nut on the mast base stud it seems fine now.

I have two 12 gallon tanks and usually only have one on board. When we go to Lake of the Woods, Ontario, we carry both.

We have both a jib and a 150% genoa. If I have to pick one I'd pick the jib. The genoa overpowers the boat on gusts and a partially furled Genoa doesn't have the greatest shape. Perhaps a 130% would be a better choice.

We haven't really got the cruising spinnaker to work well for us. It tends to get blanketed by the main when trying to reach downwind. It's seems OK on higher points of sail though or on a dead run if you go wing-and-wing with a whisker pole.

every one gave you their advice and not much could be added, except the
chair rail seats....850 is steep, forget that, order yours from bwy for 500 still up there and take the hour to install them yourself. its easy and they send you everything needed fro the job. use the 350 you saved to buy some inflatable vests.
