Source for Mastlight 2-pin Connector?

A pin broke on my mastlight deck 2 pin connector. I also want to make an adapter for my anchor light.

What type of plug is this and where can I get one?

The factory has it listed as "DECK PLUG PERKO 1190"

I used the west marine 4 pin deck connector.

Worked quite well... the original cap fell off and ended up using the mac cap. Seems to work:

The WM catalog has never been very clear about this, but I'm pretty certain if you buy the correct part number, you actually get two of the replacement male end plugs, the ones attached to the mast pigtail which tend to get damaged by breaking off the pins.

You can always order one of each and send back the one which is wrong.

I have one for the mast head light and one for the anchor light & I've gone through the original and two replacements and am ready for another set of replacements. There is no doubt a better way but I'm kind of stuck on the idiot proof pop-off feature of the existing Perkos; if I got a more permanent type screw on version I'd forget to disconnect it and rip it right out of the deck (or break the wires) about the second time I dropped the mast.

When the contact or connection begins to fail, what do you do? By that, I mean the light flickers and then goes off.

I have tried contact spray and sand paper and files. Is there something on the market that would work before replacement?

Contact cleaner should work. A drill slightly smaller than the holes used by hand (not in the power drill) works for reaming them out. The male contacts are simple split pins, and they tend to collapse. Use a knife on the split and spread the halves apart very slightly; be careful as this is what breaks the pins.

I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents if it would help someone else. I just matched up the manufacturer/part # for that 2-pin mastlight connector, it's a Marpac part # 7-0448. Other places repackage and markup to around $15, but once you know what you are looking for, they are less than $6USD for both the male and female side in a set. Easy to find plenty of sellers on the net with a google search.

I'm bringing it up as I just had to hunt down a replacement for mine.

Glad you brought it up as I'm looking at replacing the original as it has never properly worked. I'm thinking I might get a combination deck light and steaming light as it will be handy when anchoring at night. That would probably need a four pin connector.

Keeping a little dielectric grease on the connectors will help prolong their life as well. I've replaced my pins twice now - both times the split pins have broken.

One pin corroded and broke off from the masthead light connector on my . I bought a new connector at Bluewater Yachts. While I was at it, I also replaced the deck connector. This was relatively easy, but requires access to the space between the deck and liner. On a , there is a removable access cover right near the dinette mirror and daggerboard trunk. Remove all the flotation foam, and you have access to the connector.

There is no part number on Blue Water Yachts. Do a search for Deck Plug on their website, then call to confirm.

I recieved mine from West Marine , just a few days ago . It is both the male and female . The female being the deck mounted recptacle . It is exactly the same part , and fits perfectly .

As was discussed here , awhile back , I mounted a white anchor light on top of the mast and plan to plug it into the masthead light plug .
