Coffee?

Yes! I used to make that all by myself before the mate showed up.

Get an old tapered steel pot with a lid that has a little plastic knob on top.

Pour in a enough ground up coffee that would fill about four jiggers. Add water. Boil it until the bubbles are practically coming right out of the top. Crack an egg and throw it in.

Try it. You'll see.

meals

We just did a 14 day trip from Labelle FL to Labelle FL by way of the Gulf,Long Key,Atlantic and Lake Okeechobee. We traveled with a 26ft Chrysler that had been trailered from Oklahoma. They do these buddy trips alot and for supper everyone cooks something and then we raft up and share. I was pleasantly surprised with a great Roast. It had been purchased at Walmart..fully cooked..vacuumed packed and just reheat. I recently bought one to take on the truck and it turned out well also. I'm adding that to my supply list. They had some Chicken breasts and turkey that wasnt bad either. I had taken frozen hamburgers, steaks, chicken legs(marinate in italian dressing) & hotdogs. I keep the 5 day cooler strictly for the frozen meats. 2 gallon jugs of frozen water (great for cold drinks once thawed). The other cooler has all the extras and stuff needed daily. It worked great. I had several MRE's that we carried just in case we didnt want to cook or someone got seasick. Luckily no one did.

stew

Post by BK »

We RV a lot and use the same recipe in the boat. We buy 8 pack Costco canned beef stew and add ground beef, canned mix veg and canned tomato sauce. We eat a lot of tuna sandwiches. We have found that eating out for lunch and then our stew at night gets us by while traveling. One pot is all you need. Use good quality Costco paper plates and plastic throw away silverware.
This is another subject but most restaurants offer good lunches only a dollar or two more than Macdonalds. Usually it is the same meal you would pay twice for at dinner. I have been amazed that people eat at Macdonalds while the best restaurant in town offers a lunch special for a little more. This keeps the wife happy.
