So does mine (Inmon Yachts in MDR) although mine is only a short distance from the factory. My boat was also in perfect shape and the great service I received still continues today, 9 1/2 months later.
The dealer Im acquainted with here in Kemah, Tex. travels to Costa Mesa to pick up his Macs. I havent had any complaints, nor have I heard of any complaints concerning his deliveries. The dealer is Sailventure, Inc.
Ive been impressed with his knowledge of Sailing, Sailboats, etc. Its great knowing an honest & knowledgeable Mac Dealer

I have complained a few times about my dealer not wanting to honor too many warranty issues, claiming that anything that ever broke was my fault. I must say, however, that after reading this stuff, my dealer seems pretty good.

Delevi, I bought my boat from a similar dealer. Drives from Indiana to Costa Mesa CA and buys one Mac at a time.. My Mac 26X had one very minor gelcoat flaw and that was it.. When I signed the deal on his kitchen table I noticed he had pictures of Max owners from all across the country he had sold Mac's to.. My picture has been there since 2000 next to Cincinnati. Had my X since 2000 and it remained in really great shape. He sells one Mac at a time. From a retirement job perspective all I can say is I envy him.. Loves what he does and does it well..
I have been told that the factory can have quality issues from time to time. My experience has been good so from where I sit the quality has been fine..

I do think the dealer really makes a difference.. They don't give you the service you deserve fire 'em and move on to the next..
I took delivery of a new 2005 M April of 2005 and was quite disappointed. As the dealer was preping the boat, I noticed a 1 foot square area on the starboard side by the windows where the gel coat had been repaired . The repair was incomplete and looked pretty bad. My dealer called the factory and they had him buff and polish it until it nearly disappeared. I have really enjoyed my boat and find it to be the ideal craft for our needs. My kids love tubing, water sking and wake boarding while I am a sailor. The motor provides easy access to areas we want to explore and quick returns to the harbor when the weather turns sour or I am late for dinner. (Which happens quite offen) I just wish the quality control was a little higher on a new boat. But over all I am very happy with my choice of boats. Derek Wenn
I 've been reluctant to post on this one because overall I'm happy with my boat BUT I have a 2005 26m and have been chasing leaks from topsides ever since I got it....pretty much a lousy job of chaulking and some of the bolts and screws were not even tightened sufficiently. Also there were several small things that I had to fix...which I have but I bought new so I wouldn' have to . I'll admit that I love the boat but if there were another good option that does what it does I'd pay more to have better quality. New boats should not have the problems these do
Sorry to sound so negative ...this is just my pet peeve so it pushes my button....my recommendation to prospective buyers: buy used from a meticulous handiman....all the bugs will be worked out.

I want to put in my pitch for Blue Water Yachts (BWY) in Seattle for those anywhere near the Northwest. These folks have tremendous customer orientation, know their stuff inside and out, and met their commitments to us 100%. I would recommend them to my best friend.
We've had pretty good luck with our '05 M. The worst was the quality of the fiberglass finish inside all the storage compartments. Clearly a factory, not dealer issue. I fixed those up with Poxycoat (separate topic but here if you care: http://www.brownz.com/sailing.htm).
Rookie is 100%dead on. Buy used from someone who fixed every thing. A new one isn't worth the aggravation due to poor quality from the factory and dealer.
