"No Comparison
No other outboard compares, because nobody offers features like this. Computer controlled digital electronic fuel injection, dual overhead cams with four valves per cylinder, solid-state transistorized direct ignition, a tuned intake system heck, were just getting started. Suzuki gives you more, so you get more out of every day on the water.
Command Performance
Whether you have a freshwater fishing boat, a center console or a pontoon boat, you need performance on command. With multi-point digital electronic fuel injection, direct ignition, a tuned, long-track intake manifold and a water cooled fuel rail, these motors deliver easy starts, smooth idling, crisp acceleration and plenty of power.
Silence Is Golden
The DF40 and DF50 are built to be seen, not heard with tight fitting cowlings, a three-stage baffle chamber with thru-hub exhaust and long track intake manifolds. Suzukis idle air control system maintains a low idle speed that is quiet and smooth as silk.
Pass The Pump
With fuel economy up to 75% better than equivalent 2-strokes and up to 30% better than competitive carbureted 4-strokes, youll get more fishing, cruising or exploring out of every tank. And these motors meet EPA 2006 and California Air Resources Board (CARB) 3-Star Ultra Low emissions standards, too!
Worry Free Boating
With an oil bathed, self adjusting timing chain, a tough one-piece forged crankshaft, stainless steel water pump housing, dual water intakes, onboard computer diagnostics and a special cooling system, were in it for the long run.

Well I guess Suzuki is in it for the long run, now if I could get my engine in it for the long run as per my other posts.

Do I detect Puffery at the Suzuki Web site?

Man, that is the problem with all these new fangled motors. Fuel injecters, computers, etc. No backyard mechanic can fix them anymore. The mechanics need special training and the hourly rate is through the roof.
I am disapointed to learn of all the troubles you're having with Suzuki. I just bought one!

Computerized far enough makes it easier to repair
The computer will tell you or your mechanic the problem right away. The computer can make adjustments to offset the effects of mechanical wear and the conditions of the environment it operates in, so no more messing around with tune ups.
..
IMHO the computerized engine makes it easier on the backyard mechanic and lowers the cost of repairs at the shop.

I remember taking mine to the dealer for the first service (basically a really expensive oil change) and I started asking some questions. The mechanic plugged in a laptop computer and ran it thru a whole series of diagnostic tests. Seems hard to believe that something major could be wrong that that couldn't see.
