Hi Rolf:

Real nice canvas work!

Curious, how did your package stack up against Genco and Dowsar pricewise?

Did they come down to your boat and take measurements or did they already have them?

Thanks,

How does it look with the boom on? You can still use the bimini?

I paid one $1200 for the dodger, another $1100 for bimini plus clear connector. I can use mainsail and boom with bimini pulled back, not with it up. Consequently, I never sail with the main anymore, just the genoa and spinnaker(obviously I don't go upwind much!).

Much simpler since I trailer/singlehand and just use a hank on foresail. I get between 3 and 7 knots consistently depending on conidtions with this set up.

I brought the boat over to them and left it for a week about two years ago. All SS first class hardware.

Very nice, Rolf~!

I've always been a bit puzzled at the urgency expressed here for a stand-up bimini ...
but with an opaque connector panel! :|

At least your custom canvas permits using them all underway. What would you guess is Harbor's price for a full enclosure?

Hi Frank,

The stand up headroom is over 6'4" and extends almost all way up to bottom of connector. I toyed with the idea of making enclosure full, but can't justify it with southern cal's mild weather.

Extended clear side skirts out from corner where dodger connector and bimini meet would help avoid windward splash which can get me when traveling upwind at an angle.

I would imagine completing the enclosure would cost 2-3 more thousand at least.

One other note:

Like Duane said, a good dodger and or enclosure is one of the best things you can do to make this boat comfortable. I can't imagine motoring or sailing without one, much less taking a nap without shade!

It's also real nice being able to walk around the cockpit without squatting or bumping into the boom when at a mooring.
