Catigale,

Funny you mention that, when motoring I leave my engine up so the white hulls can keep up 8)

Please give us a report on the performance with the new prop.
Took it out for a brief trial. Found it would do 14-16 knots at 5500 rpm with ballast empty, but lots of gear on board. Slightly faster than the stock 3 blade, but picks up speed much quicker, doesn't cavitate, and is a bit easier to maneuver at low speed.

Just got the Amita.

I found I had to not install the splined spacer and the washer that was on the Honda OEM prop just in front of the Castle nut.

I had to use the thin spring washer that was included with the prop to get the right spacing so I could install the Cotter pin. The spring washer (flattens when you tighten the Castle nut) was shown in the instructions to be for Mercury motors only.

I did use the splined propeller thrust washer in front of the prop.

Is this what you other Honda 50 owners did when you installed the Amita?

I had the same experience with the Alcup on my Honda. The Solas instructions did not say to omit the OEM spacer and washer, but only mentioned putting their washer in. I agree that this is the only way it can work, and mine seems to do just fine. The only difference between the Alcup and the Amita from your description is that the washer Solas provides with the Alcup is flat, not a spring washer.
