Mine emits a loud shrill percing sound when he boat exceeds 25 degrees. But it starts to whine in the 12 to 15 range when streatched out on the windward seat sun bathing. Of course I bought my clinometer at WM and mounted it on the hatch (best to have it on the center line of the boat cause a MAC is not a true sailboat  ). Wonder if it did freeze this winter, now I have to check and see if there is any liquid in it when I go home tonight.

They usually use alcohol in these so they wont freeze up.

And you had time to even LOOK at the inclinometer :?:
Not to mention look closely enough to read "38", rather than "oh s**t it's almost 40" :!:
Cool man 8)
and no PFD on
Doing that you need a strong tether, falling off the boat in those conditions is no fun, PFD or no :o

Cheers, (the other) Rick
Very funny :D

I had a sailing buddy in the boat who pointed out the meter to me. I investigated tethers and decided I didn't want one. Actually the WM salesman talked me out of it. I went to look at tethers after the first time I was alone and heeled past 25 degrees - - - scared the beJesus out of me back then. The salesman assured me I would not only get used to heeling but would love it - - - and doncha know he was right. That was at the same time that I upgraded my PFD and made a resolution to always wear it when sailing alone (another broken resolution) :(

I am resigned to the probable fact, that, because of other health issues, if I ever DO fall out of the boat, someone will wind up with a 2006 :macm: on the cheap, cause I will be GONZO permanently. The end!

Rick :) :macm:

Not sure on the angle, but trust me I have been able to see under the water, when looking down into the cabin, a friend once said that this equates to talking to fish. If some one asks how was sailing today, and you encountered the above thrill, just let him know"Not bad just talking to the fish" :o :P :?
