this has been brought up before.........by many of us........myself included.

I am more than willing to trade time on a well outfitted 96X I have in north Puget sound san juan islands, with someone who has a Greek Agean, Danish, German, Swedish, English, Italian, or New Zealand (bay of isles) boat......... (the only reason Australia is not on the list....is I cannot yet figure which coast to start with.........;) ) Not to mention trading with highlander as soon as I get another chance to head east when the ice thaws............

With departures leaving Puget sound departures leaving Anacortes, La Conner, or Bellingham

The boat just became much much more available.......heheheheheheh

Hi Darren

Your more than welcome , though your gonna have to get adjusted to sailing a cutter rig, of course that skill should be attained very shortly :P  but an 26m does sail very diff. from an 26x

John,
Sea trials and inspection Nov 22-24......... as far as that staysail..... something is going to have to change on her......too dificult to use for anything other than wing on wing..... So I will be drilling and glassing and bolting to give that deckstanchion/bulkhead tie a new home for the staysail........ thinking on the bulkhead tween the master and the forward chain locker....... but I will have to shorten that stay considerably. I am trying to keep the same sail size.... might have to cut it a bit...... havent measured it yet.

or extending the bowsprit??

Darren

I'd look into making a 6-8ft retractable bowsprit with a nice raise like my Mac19 then you would not have to change any rigging because as it extends out it would also raise so no forestay extension is required only longer genny sheets after you have done some sea trails & are happy with the set-up do a temp rig & see how it works & sails, then mod from there ! . Adj. genny blocks on the toe-rails & away you go , just call me Johnny Rigger :D 8)
