I agree with what AWKIII said. If you read that site and you have no boating or sailing experience it could give you a false sense of confidence.

By no means am I attacking a fellow boat owner, but everyone’s statements need to be reviewed. Everyone has different experiences and opinions and it is great that they share them. I would just caution everyone who looks at that site to research your information. I have found some of the information to be very useful. As with anything one must research. The Mac is a great boat, but I think it is vitally important for everyone to know the limitations of their boat. For those that want the site, go to google and search for “murrelet Macgregor”

Also I wanted to clarify, I did not mean to call anyone nuts.... just their statements. Which in my own eyes thier statements can be dangerous.

When I was considering buying a MAC vs a trailerable Catboat, I ran across that site and found it incredable but it did make me very curious about the MAC's abilities. Downsizing from a keelboat was a real uneasy experience but sites like Duane's, the NE Trailer Sailers, and trailer sailers groups on yahoo helped a lot. I say all this because of an obvious spelling error above (and I am not taking a cheap shot at the error but rather the error just set me to thinking and for that I say thanks) you see, armature writers must be wound rather different, or need some energy in the local area, or maybe just like spinning things, but it was those writers that keep my interest up. And it was the down to earth, pragmatic and honest answers I got from my dealer that won me over.

Tan, it also made me think back to when I was considering buying a boat (again) late in life I couldn't figure out what I wanted, a sailboat, a shallow water bay fishingboat, a houseboat or whatever and at the time could only afford owning one boat, so I bought a Mac. Which would kind of do all of those things sort of as the mood struck me. An armature may also mean the pole piece of a permanent magnet (or electromagnet). Had I been more opinionated or resolute and polarized in my thnking, I probably wouldn't have ended up with a Mac. But I wasn't an "armature writer" or thinker then. But had I decided to buy a sailboat at the time I bought my M, I still wouldn't have bought a Mac, except I had so many legal bills at the time there wasn't enough money left for any other type sailboat but a Mac. So it was destiny that I own my Mac nothing less than destiny. Now that I've finally decided that I miss sailing, and have paid almost all of the legal bills, and saved some money to boot, I can't figure out what to do with my Mac. Decisions, Decisions??? I guess I haven't changed much since buying the M. (LOL)
