Here in Finland, they wouldn't register a boat which exceeds manufacturer's recommendations for certain things. E.g. if I put a 115 hp outboard on my X, that wouldn't fly, because that exceeds the max specified for the boat.dvideohd wrote:If I read this right......
Motor = 51 Hp
8 people max
1958 pounds load (people - baggage - motor)
for Inshore and Sheltered water operations...

does that mean that you aren't "supposed" to go on to saltwater? have a larger enginer??

In Spain category of 26M is C,4 in CE, 12 miles far from the coast. my boat was imported one month ago.
But official distributor must change some thinks and add some safety material in order to pass the custom inspection and certificate of navigation.
Rules in Spain are different than England or France and boat looks different than UE 26 M boats.

SO....
I see the rating rules.. . but sailing on the Med and on the Atlantic could be a lot different....
If you decide to sail to Italy, are there "CE" rangers that will give you tickets? The limits seem kind of
vague....

Yeah no crap. I'd hate to have government telling me what I can and can't do with my boat. But then again, our government is trying to do that now with every other part of our lives. If the power brokers say the Swine Flu vaccine is mandatory me and the mac 26x will sail as far offshore as needed with as much ammunition as possible!

Also it´s not adwisable one can go with the
even accross the Atlantic, no CE-rangers will check on it
. But if something fatal happens for sure You will have a problem as far as liability and insurance is concerned
.
One reason for the C-limitation will be the frameless windows, big waves would damage them.
In GE the
is limited to C, 6 persons + luggage, ma 550kg.
