hi O, I'm sure Rogers boat is nice but its going to be a an early model i presume if it was used as their promo boat for brochures. Those had the earlier steering rated for 300lbs instead of the later system at 2000lbs as well as balsa decks which are reportedly softer. For me theres still the freight to get it across to the east coast (+_ $2000) and to fetch it and tow will cost the same with a rented van bringing it to the east coast. So the price does still climb a bit above the $19900 advertised,

If you add a motor look at the 2009 Suzuki 90. New lighter weight with a free 6 year extended warranty. Motors will cost between $5k to $8k.

Yep....top price would be $12k.
Don't be fooled with extras on a Mac......a lot of them you won't need.....plus in this case they are all 7yrs old and tired.

Rogers boat looks very good.
Would love to know the HIN # and the year of the motor.
If it really is in the condition they advertise, and around 2000 build, then it is worth the asking price, and if you could negotiate a 'delivered' price, it would be much better than the $14k one......and i am talking money here.......then comes condition.
If it is pre 1999 then I personally think it a couple of grand too much.
I am not sure at what point a Macs price starts to increase on the basis of classical or pristine.

Personally I think the age of Rogers has to be established.
Anyone game to ask Roger??

I think the idea of buying motorless is pretty good. The motor is a big fraction of the total value and this way you get the motor you really want instead of a 10 year old out of warranty one. My 4 stroke Yammy 40 was under $4K last year. The 40 is cheaper to rig than the 50. The 50 has electronic fuel injection, (onboard computer), hence the gauges and controls cost more.
For me a 40 is sufficient but I don´t try to pull skiers. At about 1300 rpms I´m near hull speed.
