Maybe you could set up a portable macerator pump out system.
If the lift to the pump out fitting is too high for the macerator to lift (~5’), then install a short hose on the suction side and go directly into the tank. Then you could put a long hose on the pressure side to go to your destination.
Total cost wouldn’t be much more than the price you got from Port-O-Lets.

Spec from Jabsco Macerator:

Grinds toilet tissue and waste to 1/8" or less. 12 volt dc, 12 gallon per minute discharge rate, will lift 5’ into pump and discharge 20’ above the pump and over 175’ away. 1 1/2" hose or pipe thread inlet connection and 1" outlet hose with push on connection. Wt. 8 lbs

You know how when you siphon gas out of a car tank you stick in the hose and then you suck on the other end to get the gas to flow...

Nahhhh! :P :D

I will stick with my PETT toilet.

Cheers,
Jim

The Jabsco is the one I have - you could easily put a discharge hose on the end of the macerator and go up and out of the boat. This motor self primes and has great suction power..empties the PP in about 20 seconds.

Well somehow I got lucky... I went back down to the boat to grab something off of it. I figured I would check the pump out and it was fixed! I ran the boat over and now I am all emptied out. I believe I am going to pick up a macerator this winter to have a back up plan for future problems.
Thanks all for your wisdom.............

Great! One of the marinas in town has many pump out hoses, if somebody leaves one open none of the others work.

In my travels the most expensive pump out that I have seen was $ 75.

Matt - when you go to put that macerator in, you will find its a 15A draw, so you have to use a breaker, rather than a fuse. Heavy gauge wire with the breaker as close to the battery switch or direct to battery as possible. I put a flush button (momentary on) outside my :macx: head so that you can open the through hull valve and 'flush' while you watch the progress (suggest you do this after mealtime)

I recomend that you use a 20 gal bladder. I changed my head to a pp and kept the holding tank and mac. I have it set up to pump into the holding tank, and dump via the mac belowwaterline or be sucked out through the deck pump out.

If you do put in a through hull make sure that you find out what needs to be done to lock it. Per my understanding a simple cable tie will work. Some places want more. you can disconnect the mac from power. Use #8 wire on the mac.

Personal preference, but Ill disagree with my friend James on this one. Matt is in PA, where he has to worry about freeze up in the dead of winter - Im not a big fan of bladders in climates where things freeze up, especially for black water. Down in FL and more civilised places, I think they are fine.

Well it didn't go too badly. I tried a drill pump and it couldn't self prime enough to draw the waste-water up about 3.5 feet, so it was back to the shop vac. It did a magnificent job :-). Was pretty painless really - the hose was the right size and everything. I chased the whole system with soapy water and rinsed the shop vac out thoroughly. Oh, and of course I removed the filter bag first.

Easy, but still, I won't make the same mistake next year. :P
