It is a BWY part they had fabricated. I'm sure either Cheryl or Todd, the owners of BWY, would know what you are referring to. Cheryl is who filled me in on it at the rendezvous back in June when I took the pictures. I'll shoot a picture over to Gail and have her get the scoop from Cheryl.

Thank you for posting the pictures of our radar arch. The radar arch is intended to be used to place the radar dome on top of, and can also have the mast roller so you don't need to replace it with the crutch when lowering the mast. It is not intended to be a place to then attach a backstay or anything else. The radar arch is normally something we install on new boats that want to add radar. We do not offer it as a stand alone item. We can't really ship it as it is too big to go any way other then freight which will be pricey. If you really really really want it the price is $795 plus shipping and handling. I am just guessing but freight may put the price of this over $1000. We cannot ship this out of the US. This is why you have not yet seen it on the web site, but we should put it on as an option for folks buying a new boat from us. We just have found that as we equippe the boat with GPS, AIS, and VHF and that most people with the Mac can wait out the fog and motor fast, we just dont have that many requests for radar. Also adding radar is very expensive and means that you end up with a large face that hangs over the edges of the pedestal. Even La Perla Noir did not have radar!
ps, Gail and I are swampped right now with calls both for new boats and parts orders, sorry if she seemed grumpy! I think I will give her tomorrow off!
Happy Thanksgiving to ALL MacGregor owners!!!

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I just can't imagine Gail grumpy. Sorry, just don't see it. :)

Shane

Nice J

That has to be the best, most unique, most equipped, one of a kind 26M on the planet!

Nice work!

Raising a glass to you mate, here's hoping that 2010 will be the summer you get to sail her every weekend!

Cheers

G

Very nice John.

Cheryl, Thanks for the info. I probably got Gail on a bad day. Didn't mean to stir anything up. I can see how the unit wouldn't be practical for my purposes, especially with the price tag. I suppose a bit of mainsail-backstay contact during a tack is tolerable.... unless Highlander wants to loan me his arch :D :P 8)

Happy Holidays,
Leon

Leon

The nice thing about my arch is that its multi purpose 1 . holds my traveler & backstay , 2. supports all my anttena's , 3. supports my aft port stern anchor , 4. davits will also support my two man mini dinghy , 5.my 2-1 rudder raising system

Its also multi sectional so can be shipped in a 2" x 24" x 48" carton :) if I ever went into production with it
Here's some more pic's to tease you with :D :D :D
