Yes I would sell that blue boat too as there are plenty of good white hulls on the market. You will get much more use out of one of those as we know they are really faster :D :D

Good luck with your decision however the monetry crisis is in decline and it won't be too long before we are all back to normal.
Fortunately the nature of the beast is that if it does sit in the driveway for a while the costs are small compared to a boat in a marina berth and so I could live with that.

Maybe look at the boat from a different perspective for a while.
Remove the mast and sails and store them in the shed and use as a power boat for a while without all the rigging involved.
You can launch and retreive just as quick as someone with a 12 foot tinny so you might use it a bit more then ease yourself back into the sailing side.

Good luck with your decision

Hi
I am selling my boat as well....I hate to sell it because I just set it up for Catalina coastal cruising. I have it listed in the classifieds. You can get a price comparison there.

One other thought Mark;

I've heard the factory has had to cut production due to environmental legislation. Such a reduced supply may cause a shift in the market to favor a 'sellers' market.

On the other side of the coin (if the above is true), buying back into another MAC 26 may be quite difficult if not more expensive.

We could be 'overanalyzing' this thing to death on the other hand :!: :D

Good luck with the coin flip

Yes the factory is down to one boat per day. There are only 4 used boats for sale in California that I see listed.

There are 4 gazillion boats for sale in the west - - - I know because I just picked up a boat trader magazine (just LQQKING :wink: ).

Pretty good idea by Nautek (Allan), remove the mast and store the sails and use it as a pretty nice looking powerboat for awhile (why didn't I think of that?) (then you'll get some pretty weird looks and "what is that" questions) :| .

I should have done that - - - still a nice looking boat - - - never thought of it. I still would have had the same objections to Lake Mead, but a powerboat there seems more practical - - - DARN!!!

PS Hmmm - this 34 footer in boat trader seems like a possibility!
