I have found that big 747-type airplane tires around the sides of my X work very well.

What was the trolling motor you used? I've been considering buying one for our dinghy, and having one that can move the boat around a marina would sure be a handy backup. I can easily sail into the marina and I used to dock under sail alone with my Columbia Sabre all the time, but I would only attempt it in a Mac in an absolute emergency.
