"i wouldn't call it a sailing venue...I live on Saluda lake. Not the best lake for sailing but it's pretty good for fishing, kayaking. Not as many PWC's as some of larger lakes here in the upstate (hartwell, keowee). I personally prefer to be sailing Hartwell.
I'm looking forward to one day getting her down to the keys to do some island hopping. I figure will all this constant tacking that i do in very unpredictable conditions it will probably amazing to get out in some more open water, spending less time trimming my sheets and more time holding the tiller steady while enjoying a beverage."
I was on Hartwell for a few years and found it to be sailboat unfriendly. Lots of wind aloft but none down on the water . Most of the sailboats, motorsail, plus there are many brain-dead PWC folks on the lake. I love the lake ,but it just isn't for a sailboater.
