And even then, I find it works a lot better if I leave the jib sheet secured when tacking, and let the jib get backwinded to finish pushing it around, then cut the sheet loose and take up the downwind sheet. Took a while to figure that one out, as I'd find myself in irons frequently, no matter how fast I came about.
Too much freeboard, and not enough mass, I suppose.

No I had both sails up....but I seem to be disatsified with how it steers under most circumstances.
I'm begining to the think maybe the rudder is smaller than ideal?

These boats are 'under-ruddered' by most estimation.

I agree with this.
Also, rudders out of alignment and not parallel seems to be common. It's possible to adjust them on the X, not so much on the M.

I can garauntee my rudders are NOT out of alignment!

SENCMac25, can you post a picture of your rudder? When motoring, is your keel up or down? When sailing, how far down is it?
