Back in May, I purchased a 1979 Macgregor venture 25, just like yours. I have a few questions. On your forward hatch, how's it secured? Do you have any pictures? I'm restoring her and hope to have her in the water before Oct.

Hello, the forward hatch is attached with 2 stainless hinges on the aft edge. There are J brackets that mount to screws under the deck that secure the forward edge of the hatch and lock it down. Bluewater yachts in Seattle Washington is a very good source for parts and information. try going to this link for pictures of the boat https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lj1d21j956wt ... RoNja?dl=0#/ I purchased this Sailboat last fall and currently have it at Lake Havasu Arizona. Goodluck with your project

I restored my 1978 Venture 25 and have been enjoying it for the past year. You've done a great job of restoration. Another Venture brought back from the edge. Great job!

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that that's the prettiest Venture I'll ever see. You have done a SUPERLATIVE job with her...Truly outstanding! My own slapdash efforts with my little Com-Pac 16 "Founding", which finally resumed her rightful place in the waves last Tuesday after more than a decade's absence, pale by comparison. That is one gleaming jewel of a boat.
