It would just fold over and unless glued to the surface in time it would work its way, all the way around to cause the opposite effect. You could cover it with Kevlar as we do for knees pads and loading pads for spearguns but it still wouldn't like living in water let alone Salt water 24/7/365
Ha! So you just glue the condom on! :D And you make it of a really tight 'wet look' wet suit neoprene or whatever. How long does a wetsuit last when it is immersed in water on a daily basis? Can't be too bad for a season or two's use. With a retractable rudder or daggerboard, it's not going to be 24/7 - let alone 365 (in this part of the hemisphere, at least). :(
It shouldn't be more material than a stretched suit arm-piece, and the adhesive could be removable when desired - like 4200. The leading edge profile could result from a material held underneath, such as glued fiberglass.
I thought the 'Whale thing' was supposed to be flexibly skinned? Dive, I could do one rudder down, and one rudder up - to compare the bs levels if required. :D
hull, there could be logo's. :o

The numbers do look interesting...

Neoprene and 4200 ? Really? Materials for 2 rudders? 20"x 80" or 40x40.. DB? Tight fit but I have been talking about using 1/8th or 1/4 glued to the top half of the DB to stop the pounding.. have not even began to play with that idea.. If fact its 3 AM and I just got done painting here at the new house and I am months and months away from playing with any toys.. Time for bed .. I'm retired but I need to get this house done so I can play .. :D
