It's probably the swim that keeps the gophers at bay :D

Peanut oil has been used for many years to protect PVC and other types of inflatables.
I use any spray cheap PVC protective. On the bottom on trips lasting 4 days or more. Peanut oil so the slime doesn't create growth.
Marine life hates Peanut oil and so does the slimy grass. If you tow your Dingy, use it once a week on bottom.
Rub your left over 60pf sunscreen over the tops of your inflatable.

I keep my inflatable deflated and rolled up on the port side of the V-berth. It only gets sun when we're using it. I thought putting it away was the primary reason that one would tolerate an inflatable. The foot pump that came with mine inflates it in two minutes, I can easily do it in the cockpit, and we just deflate it and dry it out on the bow when we're done with a trip. I also have yet to find an anchorage so distant from shore that an outboard is more useful than oars, so I don't bother with an outboard on it (also saves DMV registration in CA).

How/why are your inflatables getting this much sun?

:| Actually.... mine was just delivered thursday w a 6hp Tohatsu.... haven't even unrolled it yet. My Wife insisted on the motor because of My bucket list plans of places to go. I have searched back and found where a Member here came up with some dinghy davit plans.... I'm going to have a welder Friend of mine look them over and see what He thinks. I'm just concerned about the extra weight hanging off the stern...boat about 70lbs...motor and gas tank.... maybe 75-80lbs.... plus the stainless steel...could add up real quick. :( . If that plan won't work... I will put a kicker stand on for the motor....and strap the boat on the bow :) I guess it's really gonna be a wait and see kinda thing :D Ron. :macm: Dauntless.
