Table Rock is great. Warm clear water, cliff diving, islands to explore for the kids, places to chart complicated courses to for a hamburger, etc..Don't miss State Park Marina. There are uniformed valets who tie up the boat and fuel it for you while you eat dockside. First class. Then there are the shows, parks and restaurants downtown Branson, great family fun. I'm sounding like a travel agent now...

I'm not knocking Table Rock at all for all the reasons you just listed. We stay at Big Cedar Lodge quiet often. It's a little quieter area than Chateau and they own Bent Hook Marina on the property where we can keep the boat docked. For just the pure joy of sailing though one should not miss out on Stockton.

I was looking at Big Cedar Lodge too, We'll have to try it. Thanks for the heads up on Stockton, it's on the shortlist.
