I am led to understand that sticking with the same brand and type of bottom paint for that last coat is usually a good idea, unless you want to sand her down and start from scratch. (Hint: You don't.) Accordingly, before too much time passes, you might do well to ask the previous owner to tell you exactly what's on there now. With a bit of luck they may even have a bit, or even a lot of it remaining in the can in their garage for a little touching up here and there at the end of the season.

As for really cleaning her up, top to bottom, which will REALLY make you feel great about her, if you do not already have a pressure washer, then I simply cannot recommend Harbor Freight's little cheapo electric one highly enough. It's just the right amount of cheap and crappy and weak, so you simply can't do any harm. Just don't tug it around by the hose, or the plastic filter/inlet hose thing might break. Swab her down with a cup of Wisk laundry detergent in a bucket of water, give her a good blasting, wax her down, and she'll look brand new. Those pressure washers frequently go on sale for less than 80 bucks American.

For example, lake George, in the Adirondacks of New York, will not allow boats in “the lake painted with anti-fouling paint containing TBT, or Tributylin, it is not allowed in the lake, unless it was applied in New York State by a registered Commercial Pesticides Applicator”

Not to worry, TBT's have been banned in the USA since the late '80s except for special permit use on larger ships and in some outdrive spray coatings (later banned here in the '90s). So, unless you hauled you new 26M out of a time machine or it had its bottom done by a guy named Fong alongside an alarmingly green creek just outside Shenzhen, or maybe visited Trinidad lately, Lake George should welcome you and your bottom with open arms.
