heres my tips on rigging quickly

I broke down and slipped Catigale in the Hudson last season, I logged 700 miles on her that year!

When I did trailer her I disconnect the CDI furler/150 Genoa at the fractional rig and then pull the whole furler flush with the mast and put a sail tie every 3 feet. The Furler and furler line go into a one gallon Ziploc bag which also gets sail tied to the mast. First Season I tried all sorts of tricks with poles to support the furler the 3 feet or so it stuck off the mast - this is a lot cleaner. Ideally, a quick release pin on the masthead connect would make this a snap.

Someone on the board gave me the lifeline release trick last year - I put quick pull pins on the lifelines so I dont have to dance the mast anymore.

I also use cable ties to secure shrouds and lines - then cut them free for sailing. You use a lot of time knotting rope and dressing shrouds Ive found.

I cant touch Chips 19 minutes, 29 is my best. Ill defend that Im probably still triple checking things which I think is prudent (no offense to anyone or their records intended)

I dont have mast raising gear - I lift the mast (Im 6'1" 210 pounds, blessed with a strong back) from the companionway with a dockline looped over the crotch of the mast, then led forward to the pulpit. Once I have the mast up I grab the dock line and walk forward keeping tension on the mast by keeping the line taut. Pin the furler in and life is good. I usually had a problem with a kink in the shrouds and adjustor plates, but learned the trick with that is 1 inch PVC tube which will keep them in the right place.

Happy Sailing everyone - not long now for us Upstaters...

Last saturday, we got to the docks at 5:20 pm. The rangers lock the
gates at 6:00 pm. This is the latest I have be in. We went up the lake
toward the river that feeds the Lake as at times there are strong gust
of wind. Any way, my future son in law and I had the boat out the gate
in 25 minutes. I have launched it maybe 10-12 times. I think I will get
the Speedy rigger to see how I should be doing it. Plus, sailing tips.

No trips to Hawaii on this boat until I master Lake sailing first.

(Bay sailing in San Francisco this spring for next step)
