A single cylinder 2 stroke would be the go, around 5hp, that would be a compromise between weight and power, maybe look at a high thrust prop on that, it wont be overly fast but it should have enough power to move the boat along

I use a little 4HP Yamaha 2 stroke mounted to a tilt trolling bracket on the back of my X. It's nice to be able to lower the bracket to transfer the motor to the dinghy when needed and can be used to push the X if loss of main engine. Mine will push the boat, fully loaded for cruising, around 5 knots WOT and cruise easily at 2/3 throttle around 4 knots. It's got a built in tank so no hoses and fuel spills to deal with. I just lock it's tiller handle and steer with the normal rudders. Weighs about 30 lbs full....I love it.

I just installed oar lock sockets on my Mac 19, in preparation for taking it to Florida. I have 10' oars. Sometimes I just like to row around and look at the birds, alligators, dolphins, etc. I also installed them on my first Mac, a '91 26S. I haven't installed them on my current 26X (my 3rd one) yet, but I will. I also have a duck-billed push-pole for both boats.

I can take pictures of the oar-lock sockets with oars in them on my first Mac 26S tomorrow, as it is being stored outdoors for the winter, at my shop, by the present owner.
I'll also try to take pictures of the oar-lock sockets of my Mac 19, which is presently inside my shop.
I also want to take pictures of my completely re-designed aluminum rudders for my Mac 19 that I made out of old C-scow (I think) lee-boards.
I will need someone to inform me how to post pictures.

The freeboard of the M seems to be a barrier for rowing with two oars. I don't think 10 foot oars will do it.

Rowing a 26 foot, 4400lb, high freeboard sailboat, hmmm can you get some video of that, I would be interested to see how that works, I'm pretty sure not overly well without a full complement of slaves, someone on hand with a whip in case they slow down and someone on the drum to keep them in time.

Takes me back to the old black and white Hercules movies I used to watch as a kid on the afternoon matinee, over the weekends

I'm not really up to date on this hi-tech stuff. I have an 8-track tape player in my office for tunes.
So, I tried to take some pictures of the 26s with an oar, and a 26X with a mid-ship cleat. I got 5 pictures of the 26S, 2 pictures of my 26X, 3 partial pictures of my face and 2 pictures of the ground.
I'll have my wife show me how to use my cell phone camera and I'll try to take pictures tomorrow of my Mac 19.
