We used the 4" 50 lb. This is a really nice foam. It is as comfortable as our $800 mattress in our home. It is nice and firm. If you do not get a good nights sleep, it makes for a bad day.

We used 4 inch thick memory foam and then we just cover it up with a regular bed sheet. During the day time we have some throw pillows on it with a couple nice blankets and its all good. It's more comfortable then out bed at home.

I'm curious about the foam factory that some of you used. Did you pick 3 or 4 inch foam to fit in the existing covers? And did you pick the 35 or the 50 pound density.

We used 50lb lux for our seats and like it, it is too stiff for a mattress for
me though. We did the queen bed in our cat with 4" of HD36 35lb foam and it was too hard for us so we put a topper on it. I like firm, but it needs a little squish or I wake up sore. Measure your clearance. Too thick and it just takes up headroom. Ours with the topper is thicker than I would like.
I put one of these in a quarter berth a few years ago and love it. I think they would be a good replacement aft berth in the mac if the covers need replaced.

We also did foamfactory. They cut the v-berth cushions for us based on measurements i gave them. I also bought several larger pieces that added up to the rest of the benches and rear berth and cut those with an electric carving knife. Works great. So far we have just covered them with spare bedsheets and we’re fine for one night. Easy to clean up after.

We started with Foam Factory....
http://www.thefoamfactory.com/
... as our go to place for foam. They have free shipping on orders over $75 and a great selection of foam to select from and great service and they will cut to size.
We now use their sister site Foam Distributing .....
http://www.foamdistributing.com/
... for our foam needs. Free shipping on orders over $100 and you have to order either 1/3, 1/2 or full sheets of foam and cut yourself. Doesn't sound so good but the pricing on these sheets in most cases is a lot less than the foam from their other site above. A $15 electric carving knife easily cuts the foam to size and we usually end up with extra foam that can be used on other projects. I do see where they offer custom cutting but not sure how that effects the price. Compare both sites when shopping. Same foam selection from both and fast service.
We have used the Lux High Quality Foam ...
http://www.foamdistributing.com/LHQ/lux ... -foam.html
..... in 3 inch thicknesses for both boat's mattresses and most of the interior cushions. It is very firm and the 3 inch gives more headroom and has held up very well over the past 6-7 years.
What we did do recently is add a 2 inch memory foam topper to the mattress in the Endeavour and like it. Getting older and it feels better. Doesn't seem to effect the headroom much as you sink into it at higher pressure points. We used their best memory foam.

We like it and will add it to the Mac also and also our bed at home.
For cockpit cushions we have used the dry fast foam ....
http://www.foamdistributing.com/D/dryfast-foam.html
..... with good results except eventually have had to replace some as it compacted over the years but still love it for how quick it dries,

We have been very happy with the FROLI system:

I opted to go with the foam factory. Price almost seemed to cheap so I was skeptical. I went with the 2.8 35lb density foam.I thought it might not be firm enough but is perfect for me. Now maybe I will finally sleep as well on my boat as I have on others'. Now for some new sails next winter for the 2019 season.

Froli for sure!

I’m 240# and found the factory foam was poor. Changed it out for a denser foam and added the Froli system.
