By the way why you don't use truck tarpaulin? So you had not just sun shelter but also a shelter from rain.

The sunbrella bimini lets the water in fast.

I have good results with resealing Sunbrella with this protectant. You have to clean it really well, first. And, for all practical purposes, it is probably a good idea to clean and reseal before any longish passage to be more confident of using older Sunbrella Bimimis and having them waterproof.

There are virtually no circumstances where I am needing to avoid rain.

If it's raining enough to let water in, we're likely at dock.

Then again, we* signed up for the Cruising committee this year, so maybe we're actually get out on the water for more than 2 hours at a time. :)

*by 'we', I mean she. So proud of her!
