Yeah i just looked and theres no way to see without removing the 15hp either theres no factory holes or the clamp points are right on top of them which doesnt make too much sense.
Anyone know the max motor weight when shopping for a 90 hp or similar? On the 19 we were having trouble turning with a 50hp 4 stroke both with motor up completely and in water under sail with 2 people on board.

The Big 4 Strokes are all good -& quiet! Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury etc. Find a good local dealer/mechanic & get the longest warranty you can. I'm in the NE & valued the ability to Winterize on my own & no oil change with 2 stroke E-tec; YMMV.
Let the professionals worry about the holes. This is also a good time to wire in your chart plotter to your motor on whatever version of Nmea2000/4000 or whatever they use. This way you can get your motor information: oil, temp, rpms etc on screen.
In order to receive warranty you probably have to have authorized mech install. - It's worth it

Get the Bwy motor linkage so you can disconnect the motor from your steering in either down or up position. & lighten the feel of your steering. I think the Etec 90 is 320lbs. & not a problem re steering or trim.

I don't think there's a maximum for weight...someone had a 140HP motor on the back of his X a few years ago, and Gazm has a 110.
It's logical to think about weight and try to minimize it, and that should play into your decision as to what motor to buy. A few years ago when I re-powered the Etec90 was by far the lightest option at 320lbs, and it had a few other advantages such as auto-winterizing that I liked. If I had to do it over, though, I would go with a Suzuki DF90 because of the noise. The Etec is just too loud at all RPMs. I was visited by Chinook a few years ago and had a look at their Suzuki (Think it was a 50 or 60) and I couldn't even hear it at idle, while the 2-stroke E-tec always lets you know it's there.
In my opinion the E-tec is great for short full-throttle runs and watersports, but is NOT a great cruising motor because of its noise levels. Depends on how you use your boat.

All good points & almost all true... Gazmn has a 115hp engine
& if I had to do it again, I'd still go with E-tec for less maintenance & break in, but go with the 90hp Pontoon Series. My 115 pontoon series is quiet at low idle & speeds, but not as quiet as the 4 strokes. E-tec has excellent charging ability. That's important to running gear & charging batteries. Since the 75/90 chasis is 3 cylinders there's a little more vibration to them. I had an E-tec 90 for almost 10 years the pontoon softer motor mounts are excellent dampers & lessen vibration as they claim. The other V3 bonus is the oil tank is internal. With the 115 I: swing a bigger V6 prop, suck a little more gas & have significantly higher charge capabilities. When I go mastless [hardly ever] it flies! However, I think a 75/90 chasis regardless of make swinging the biggest prop it can, at correct rpms is all you will ever need.
