26m Aft Cabin Cushion Question

In my old bayliner 2755 I straight stuffed a good quality orthopedic conventional mattress into the aft berth. It was over 10" thick! Headroom was pretty bad but I slept like a baby on that boat for months at a time.

If I were to do it again, I would buy a memory foam mattress and have it custom cut. I had one made for my dad's Motorhome and the just charged me for the larger size mattress they cut down. No extra charges and the cover was made to fit! I'm not sure they could do a radius but I'm sure they can do an angle.

Andrew, the & the can theoretically sleep six, but only family, VERY close friends, or couple exchanges. Privacy is non existent.

Ray , I,m a rogue sailor but in an honest way ! , always lookin to find better ways to do things ! but not at the expense of other,s , well unless u peeve me off like "back stabbers & liar,s " will always b in my cross hairs lol,
But when someone ask me what was she like ! Wife and I found a nice queen size mattress at Ikea that was very comfortable and only about $100. Have tried the egg crate thing on top of the original mattress to no avail. Covers are washable and easy to get in or out. Can't emphasize enough the happy wife ditty....

How thick was the mattress ?

This reminds me of the time when Rocky "Dreamer" was anchored off an Island campground the boy,s camped over night on the beach while rocky & Admir. slept on the boat , so around 2am he hear,s two people swimming around the boat next thing he realizes their climbing up the ladder into the cockpit , so gets up opens the hatch & to their surprise two 20 something bikini clad chics said Oh were sorry we thought the boat was mty , so after a short & friendly chat they left & swam back to the beach , his Admir. slept thru the whole thing , I told him he should have waited about 10 mins before opening the hatch he mighta had a better view
I said just ur luck the Admir. was on board !
next day he tell,s the boy,s what they had missed , so that night they elected to sleep in the cockpit to no avail.

How thick was the mattress ?



about an inch thicker than the original but firmer foam. Don't hit the floor with an elbow when moving around, if that makes sense.
