Construction Material type and weights

So I am done for now with the countertop, will build drawers when I have time. The bamboo plywood I used was 60lbs for a 4 x 8 sheet (I used less than half the sheet) about 50% heavier than normal 1/2” plywood (40lbs). But I believe it to be at least twice as strong. I considered using 1/4” and doubling where needed. I also used 100 stainless steel threaded dowels in the construction (6/32 screws with heads cut off) in every epoxy glue connection. I also used a bit of 1/2” birch plywood for areas that wouldn’t be seen, it’s way cheaper and lighter too. But I think the 1/2” bamboo was perfect for the spans I needed. The sink was about 9 lbs and together the countertop was 43 lbs with the epoxy coating. Drawer weight ? 3 lbs each = 6lbs. And shelving below in birch plywood about another 20lbs. Metal post/ connection hardware about 3 lbs . So total weight about 72 lbs total ? Will I win races? No. But my wife loves to cook now with the improved kitchen so it’s a win for me. :D

I got it from a company called Cali Bamboo. It was crazy expensive, had to wait a month to get it, then had to have it shipped from the warehouse in Los Angeles. I’m not sure I would do that again. But I have to say it exceeded my expectations, great material to work with (just don’t slide you hand over a freshly cut edge, you’ll end up with a bunch of tiny needles broken off in your fingers!) sand slightly first. I have found a few pieces in stock at a few hardwood lumber yards, but they were all wrong thickness, wrong grain I wanted, wrong color (carbonized) etc. Birch plywood is reasonable, and available if you can make it look satisfactory with stain or ? I don’t know much about that. Bamboo sheet was $325 ? Plus shipping. Birch $50-60, find local HD, Lowes. But good thing is I have enough left over to build a table in the cockpit.
