I had to replace the rear port cleat on my 98X, here are a few photos.
This photo shows the 2 bolts holding the cleat and the 4 bolts holding the front of the A shaped pulpit.
Some more photos of the repair:
Like I mentioned in the previous post (not sure of the geometry for your area) maybe a smaller hole saw?
Take some photos for us whatever you do.

So, it is (for me) a fairly major undertaking - and I also have to access the rear bolts that attach the arch to the round plate....
Not looking forward to it...
Thank you for the photos Doug - that answers the question how the bolts are secured to the hull!

Btw, I have to look on the transom wall - there might be a lid for access to the bolts!
Cannot recall if I saw one of those there....

Deck plates with screw off lids r the way to go then u always have access for furture mods or other issues

I guess, although they are a bit too big/thick and might make leaning against the cockpit "wall" uncomfortable.
Maybe one of those softer, smaller lids...
Either way, the only way to access these bolts is by boring holes.
Not the best MacGregor design solution....I might upgrade the cleats while fixing the arch...
