Another story for the "No good deed goes unpunished" file... :x

Never had one come back without a title before, but did get smoked once selling to a "friend" that was "temporarily" short on cash.

I agree with the suggestions above. If the guy doesn't register it, and you have no signed/witnessed bill of sale, technically it's still your boat. I wouldn't wait around on this for too long.

Really hate that this happened to you. :?

BTW, once you get a handle on this, you can download blank Bill of Sale Templates from many places. Google "Bill of Sale Template".

It doesn't have to be very complicated, although as Ray mentioned above, the BOS should mention the boat's details such as VIN, year, make and as much detail as you can list.

Good luck. It's a shame because that boat deserves a home where it will be appreciated.
