I also have an 11 3/4 x 10 3-blade aluminum like Time Warp. I don't think it is the "stock" prop - it sets my Honda BF50 up just right at max rpm for w.o.t.
I've not seen the symptoms you all are reporting here. I do find that the engine cavitates very easily if I try to turn too sharp at higher rpm, but I don't find that unusual. I can run at w.o.t. with or wothout ballast.
One thing, though - my motor does not sit all the way down, the pin is in the second hole. Originally the pin was in the lowest hole, and if I remember correctly the engine did tend to cavitate more - it also pressed the nose down too much (pressing the nose down lifts the stern, too). I tried it in several holes and decided that the second one gave me the best overall results, though this was with my water tank up in the "V", I guess I should recheck it now that I moved 160# from the bow to the stern ... ymmv.
