+1 on the Magnum paint sprayer. I bought one of these (actually a smaller model) during our last flood (at which time I was also building an add-on office), and it REALLY makes quick work of painting a room. The only catch is that you need obviously need to mask things off and cover furniture, etc.

Here's the problem....the paint I am using is for stucco and is like warm honey. The directions for spraying would call for at least a .025" spray noz at 3000psi. all of the "moderately" priced spray guns only go up to .019 noz at 3000 psi, which wouldn't give me any coverage.
I would be forced to go with a more commercial unit and spend a few thousand dollars, which is what I was trying to AVOID by doing it myself in the first place...
I am at least switching arms to get myself equally sore all over!

For the most part, I don't like Ann, eventhough I agree mostly with her politics, she is just to shrill and attacking about it. She likes to fight, for the sake of fighting and I think people like her do more damage to the conservative cause that help, as it gives critics of conservative ideas a person to point to and say "look at those crazy ranting, name calling conservatives. As soon as that happens, good bye issues, hello attacks.
OK, painting update. I am going down to Dunn Edwards and check out the spraying angle and if their unit is too pricey, I may try another less expensive unit. Even if I have to spray the house 4 times, and tape and prep the whole house IT HAS TO BE EASIER that what I am doing now...it is killing me....

I painted my 2 story house this summer. 60 % stucco balance wood.
I had alot of prep work to do. It took me a month. (weekends only).
In the Central California Valley temps were in the low 100s for that time
and you become hot and tired after 5-6 hours. I work in an air conditioned office.
One of the days when I was painting the trim work at 26 feet at the top of my extension ladder in the back yard.... I thought something had died up there. The flies had found something alive
to bother ...me... I finally realize after and hour of up and down the
ladder...wiping sweat from my face and hair ...That I had stepped in dog sh~t...and applied it to the rungs of the ladder with my shoes.... (getting this pic yet) hands squeezing
ladder rungs as I went up and down times. rubbing it into face, hair,
arms. I am not comfortable at the top of ladder and was attempting to
over come fear of falling. My wife is not sure if she likes the new color... I cant even look at it but boy... I saved $2000

Rob...you have got to be kidding me....I'm sorry to laugh at your expense, but dog shiiiiiiiiiii# on the ladder....
I have been moving from the front to back of the house to keep my sorry self in the shade. So far I have been at it for a blasted week and am still not even 1/2 way finished. This is killing all of my time away from work, when I should be out on the boat. People, total strangers, are driving by my house and stopping, asking me how much I charge! Like I'm some hired help, because the owner of the house would never be stupid enough to do this job himself.
I'm telling you guys; tomorrow I may be posting a photo of my new 3000 psi power sprayer and dealing with the "boss" when she gets home from work over the "non-approved" purchase of over our preset limit (that, my friends is another story). I've come to terms with spending up to $800 (which I've seen a decent one for). It just kills me, because as most boat owners, I see that $800 as a Sport Pilot +, or Stern Rail seats, or...or...or.
hull, I only reside in my house, but I LIVE, truly live, in my Mac in all meanings of the word.
I think you guys here understand.

Can't speak to her fluffiness, but Treason was an excellent read. Really enjoyed it, but lent it to a nebt friend and somehow it never came back.kmclemore wrote:And has anybody noticed that Ann has gone from 'flat' to 'fluffy' in the past few years?
You should all thank Ann though, she's the one that turned G.W. on to the Mac in the first place...

Rich, I hope you wrap things up soon and get back on the Mac. I've had a similar situation the last month... but in my case, I probably won't have any season left by the time I'm done with it.

Poor Man
I am not wealthy. I am proud. Yet, this summer in 100 degree heat I had my house painted. I was aboard Breezy during most of the work. I do not do ladders and decided that this paint job was worth every penny for the professional work and my time away on my Mac.....I live in a two story, bad knees, young children and a boat just screamed...."hire this one out!" the Admiral had to agree........I count my blessings.......think about it next time my friends........it was great........
Now, to Ann, she is the hottest chick, just wish she would shut up more, listen to others and as someone said be less aggressive.......didn't she first get fame by writing a book about Nixon? I saw them on an interview together before he passed....I thought, "at her age, what the hull does she know about Nixon?"

I like her column
whatever her style, she does present a point of view I enjoy reading once in a while. http://www.anncoulter.com/cgi-local/welcome.cgi

And I like this place to go for real up to date stuff, I like the link along the right side that shows the front pages of news papers around the whorld. I somtimes look at that to see what the media around the world is saying about the USA. http://www.drudgereport.com/
..
Then there's a forum somewhere for every make of car.. I turns out that my tow vehicle the Izusu Trooper discussions are also very active, although since they stopped selling Troopers in the USA it has slowed down a lot. Troopers are simpler than most tall station wagons, but very capable and people that own them love them. The Trooper was rebadged as an Acura for a while, so Honda agrees they are well built.

I never miss the opportunity to see Ann when she is on Hannity and Colmes. She makes Colmes squirm like a little boy because he rarely has any facts to back up what he says. She intimidates him like no other guest does.
Poor Heath, he just wants to run the best sailing forum and we keep dropping off into the bowels of politics. Shame on us.
Getting back to sailing, I was on the boat yesterday and it needs a good washing real bad. I am thinking of buying a Black & Decker pressure washer w/soap tank. I wonder if there is also a good spray on silicone type product to keep things shiny between wax jobs? Any thoughts?

OH MY HEAVENS!!!
I just tested out my new $561 airless sprayer from Lowels and I am still FLOATING on a CLOUD! I can't believe I was sooooooo foolish to not get one of these sooner. If I had, I would have been done by now. Ya, $561 is a set of stern rail seats, but I would have been crippled from working the paint roller, so I couldn't have used my boat anyway.
I will post photos and a report later today...right now, I have to get out there and caress my new best friend!
