<----- There's my Hull number for all to see! It would be nice if people would put their hull number there, and motor info also, it helps when discussing things, you can tell certain things, and also track what failures occur!
An idea anyway?
<-----Having it right there or below is easier anyway, so you don't have to inquire in 100 threads as to what you have. Frank C., and a few others have done this, and it helps me anyway.

I added my hull number and engine type to my profile. I will get to pick it up from my local dealer around the 6th, but I have already crawled all over it in the lot. She sure looks great! I hope to make the Lake Mead Regatta at the end of April!

Tom, you boat (4787) was twenty ticks newer than Bobby T's at 4767. I think Roger was building the 26X at a rate of about 15 per week, or 750 per year, so your boats were finished about a week apart. Bob mentions that there might be 600 boats after his, but that seems too many for them to produce in the final six months.
(wonder if any X-boats were issued in model year 2003, after June '02?)

And there is my number, getting close to the end. J202, sometime in May '02.
Number added to the pile

Good idea, Tom. I just added the hull number to my profile also.

It turns out that in order for your hull number to show next to your posts you need to enter it into the "Location" field in your profile.

Frank, you've forgotten about
this old thread. Quiet Mon has/had 5248 built in Dec 02. I remember when I first started shopping for Macs in early 03. I wasn't sure whether to go new or used at the time but I had the choice of both a new X and a new M at that time. Dealers had both versions to sell for a few months early in 03.

Right indeed, Dimitri - completely forgot it.
There's still no solid answer about build rates, except that it seems they were able to maintain a bit more than 60 per month (or 3 boats per day) during most of the run for the 26X. Seems to me that 5248 - built in Dec '02 - must be close to the last of the X-boats. Who has the evidence that they ran all the way up to hull #5600?

I picked up my 2002 26X in Ghost Lake (Calgary) last spring and the serial # is MacX.5143.G.202
I suppose that's getting close to the last ones they made for '02

My hull number in # 5248, code is L203-- I believe that it is a Dec 02 production of the 2003 model.
Dimitri reminded me of this post from two years ago - March '04 - and Randy's post nudged me to go copy it. Apparently Roger built 105 X-boats during the last six months of 2002, July through December.
Does anyone see the conundrum here?
Randy's boat ID: MacX.5143.G2.02
The Quiet Mon's: MacX.5248.L2.03

I believe I may have one of the first non dealer M boats delivered, Hull No. MACM0016C303. We ordered it in October 02 from H&S in Newport Ca. and took delivery 3-10-03. We originally ordered white but later found out that Rodger decided to make only blue for the first month or two. So what the heck, blue it was.

i always heard the number "5400 X's built" used in threads.
it could have been 5300 and some change...
however this link says that there were
approximately 5,000 while this link says
over 5,000.
On edit: OK...just talked to Bill at the factory and he provided some insight.
1) he's stickin' with "about 5,000"
2) however, he did say that the numbers are not in sequential order. that is, there are gaps in the numbers. how many gaps he could not say. only that there is generally a space between the end of the year number and the beginning of the next year's number during the production cycle.
