Nice to see that you're sailing again Moe. The boat looks great.

Thanks, guys. We considered the 22, and there are a LOT more of them to choose from. They're certainly faster and have more storage room below, but at the cost of higher slip fees (two sizes locally), more bottom paint, waxing, etc. The 18 is all we need and we did get a good deal on it from the original owner. They're hard to find used and seem to sell very shortly after being listed.

We're going to try to take it to the Trailer Sailors Association North Channel Cruise next year. Their float plan from this past year seems to indicate the greatest number of nights between marinas is 3-4. Challenging, but I think doable.

moe;

the one we looked at had inserts for between the two benches down below. it turned the area into a bed almost queen sized. it was fantastic, does yours have this set up? there were 1x2"'s run along each side for support, simple system, but an amazing set up for a good nights sleep.

Yes, ours has the support rails and two filler cushions that make up the athwartship double berth, aka "play pen". The problem I see with using both is that the cooler has to be in the stowed position under the companionway (meaning no water jugs aft of it), and they leave no room for your feet when sitting on the potty. We may bring along only one of the two filler cushions, which with the cooler in the forward "step" position, leaves about a foot clear aft of the potty.

The quarter berths with our sleeping bags seem to be the most practical. Something to keep us off the vinyl cushions at night, but that roll up and stuff out of the way at the foot of the berths during the day.
