Yes, you do have to put a couple of twists in the sock to keep it from flapping .

i agree. i trailer my X so the purpose of the sock is to protect the furler from dirt when stored in a trailered position.deja_vu wrote: My guess is if I was renting a slip I might have gone the other way and used a strip.
