Boom Support?

I use a pigtail. You can't use a pigtail, you got no backstay.
Pigtail holds the boom up when you hoist and douse. It also confines the swing of the boom so if you get a gust, over you go.
My pigtail is braided line. I can wrap the boom up high so I don't get clonked in the head at night when the sail is doused.
It's just a short line clamped up on the backstay that comes down with a simple dog collar snap hook you click into that eye on the back port side of the boom.
Meanwhile, I'm saving up for a boomkicker.
