No, I did not see you. At 5+ knots, you would have been out of sight real quick.....

I reefed immediately when I got out. With most of the genny unfurled, I had still too much sail up to be comfortable. I ended up to running to the tip of Patience Island with genny only and did around 5-6 kts. After rounding the tip of Prudence, I decided to motor the rest to Potter's cove as tacking would have taken too long. It was indeed a great day.

Sorry to hear of all the travails you're having with your M :(

I took delivery of my M on 3 April, and while I have had some problems, they all pale in comparison to yours. The biggest problem I had was that the dealer led my main halyard to the cockpit without taking the rotating mast into account, but he quickly got that rectified and it now works like a charm.

I was in Allen Harbor on Friday night - were you the blue-hulled 26M I saw trailering in on Friday late afternoon?

This past weekend was my first 2-nighter on the boat. Friday night in Allen Harbor, then Saturday night in Potter's Cove (the one at the north end of Prudence). My only other overnight so far has been one night during Memorial Day weekend, which I spent at Dutch Island. Slowly but surely I am figuring out what all I "need" to make the overnights work out :)

Our boat was the only Blue M there that I know of. Launched the boat Fri afternoon.

Our boat is now at the honda dealer having the motor looked at.

Good luck with your M.

I have done a lot of work on the boat. I will have a website with the modifications up soon. Don't have the boat handy to take pics :)

Your friggin kidding me... Honda with a bad pump. Go figure. You're becoming the posture child for the M aren't you. I'm glad I had nothing to do with that motor. 8)

Honda's have been getting beat up lately on this board.

I'm also glad your safe and made it back. (sails pretty good doesn't it?)

When it was happening....all I could think was ....no way....what else could go wrong... but got to roll with it...otherwise it will drive you nuts... Think I was more upset the grill would not stay lit in the ~20+ mph wind when we got back to the marina. That was the icing on the cake. Only thing that would have made it more memorable would be if it rained out.

Oh well.. Hope to hear from Otho or Chris soon about the motor.

At least it did not happen on the charles river on the 4th of july weekend :)

My hats off to you and and your wife.

You must really have a sense of humor. The only thing I had go wrong with boating with me was a tangle with the Brightman ST bridge in Somerset.

When I was heading out to the bay the bridge tender yelled at me for making him open the bridge because he said I could fit under it. I was endangering lives bla bla blaah(on for 3 three minutes of how I was going to topple civilization for stopping car traffic). And when I come back he wanted me closer to take a sighting...

Went out for the night and came back the next day.... As I was about 100 yrds from the bridge I was talking to the teneder. He was complaining about my mic was muffled. (for about 1 minute) Meanwhile I picked up a pallet strap and it locke the motor to my rudder and neither was any good. Current and wind pushed us into the birdge. (the boat didnt have and anchor or chain locker so I didn't have time to delploy the unit.

We we got pinned under the bridge for 5 minutes as the top of the mast banged from rafter to rafter. First the windex... then antenna... then wind intraments... then the brideg started to open.... the mast flew across to the other side of the bridge and bang the side... Mast fell down on us. (not a cheap little mac mast either). thank god we had a coach roof garhuer traveller... It saved us, mast landed on it and it barley moved 1/8" The boat had 3/16" rigging and held but the masthead broke off.

We got towed back to Somerset marina by a fellow boater.

Because the strap was around the prop and rudder we didn't get charged with an accident. (depositing plastic into a waterway or any place is agains the law .. so it was an unlawful act of someone else that caused the accident) I think they sued the bridge contruction for the money.

Needless to say .. My wife has a fear of draw bridges. When we moved I had to make sure there were no draw bridges between where I am and where I need to go. Come to think of them I hate them too.

I also heard that same year the bridge closed down on a mac 25 and caught the mast in between the leafs. When It opened ... it picked the boat right out of the water and dropped it when it was a few feet up. (now thats a ride you should have to buy tickets for.

So I didn't feel like only guy with a bridge story that year.

Apparently it was the waterpump. No surprise. Waiting for the part. Should be in soon. Hope to have the boat back soon. Still have a lot of work to do on it.

I don't think anybody has been struck by lightening 3 times. What are the odds that a water pump would go out on a spankin new Honda. :?

I know...dealer assured me it was new. Only thing I can think of is if his guy who assembles the boat ran the motor dry to ensure it ran before delivery. Unlikely, but just could have been a faulty water pump.

The Honda place said it should be OK. Hope so. I am sure this is not the best way to seat the rings in a new engine.

Regardless, hope it doesn't come back and haunt us later.
