The 26M also has these small holes, one for each rudder. They drain water from the rudder posts back to the outside. I'm not sure, but I suspect if you pushed the stern of a 26M down deep enough, you'd get water to go the wrong way through them. It would take a LOT to push her down that deep though.
Perhaps the Mac19 is just sensitive to too much weight back aft? Just a guess.

Check to see if your vent plug is leaking, note also that you are only to fill the ballast tank up to about three inches shy of the plug vent hole I noticed you said this problem started after you filled up the ballast tank ! check from bow to stern that something has not rubbed a hole in the side of the ballast tank like a loose battery also up under the V berth storage hatch their is a wooden verticall board that closes off the forward section of the bow that is stuffed with floation & supports the V berth floor it is possible that the bottom screws securing that board if pointed down slightly instead of verticall & if their to long can be screwed right into the top of ballast tank & cause a leak ? Yep I been through every nook & cranny of this boat when I ran over 600ft of electrical wiring through her
If you've happened to come across any Rich Blonde Greek Goddess"s over their on vacation do'nt be afraid to give them my #
