Sounds like you need a new boat name
the Roger 30 (mph)

Mac with 9-10hp OB - a sailboat?

Maybe a simple question to the so called "sailing club" would be if they would take the 26C as a member but not a 26X/M or a 19 with a "big" engine, then you at least know the bias is truely "power" fixation not Mac fixation.
I don't suppose there would be any motorsailors on the lake so they wouldn't reject them!
Cheers

Screw 'em Rich
They're not worth your time nor the aggravation. I always say the best revenge is success
You have a trailer to take your boat Anywhere You Dream
And the draft [lack of] to probably do it without paying moorage
Life is short & The race is long...

I have had people who needed help refuse help from me bacause I had a MacGregor.
I have also been told by Tow Boat Us in SW Fl that they have never towed a MacGregor.
Go figure.

I forgot who said it. Maybe Winston Churchill. "I wouldn't want to belong to a club that would have me as a member!"

I had a somewhat amusing thought on this club refusal.... what if all 4000 of us Mac sailors on this forum applied for membership at the same time? Would they gag and fall off their exclusive dock in a fit of elitism , or would they say look at all that money we could have... after all that's the American Way......

His reply ( or something close was) and You madame are Old Fat and ugly.
However Madame, When I awake in the morning I shall be sober!

And Lady Churchill was also roumoured to have said "If you haven't got anything nice to say... sit next to me!"

It was Oscar Wilde who made the quip about not wanting to join any club that would have him as a Member.
Churchill, however, was not only a phenomenal wit, but vicious with it -
- George Bernard Shaw sent him two tickets to the opening night of one of his plays, with the invitation to "
Bring a friend (if you have one)". Churchill replied that he was busy that evening, but would come to the second night ("
If you have one")
- Churchill, who was fairly stout, was asked what the baby was going to be named and replied that "
If it is a Boy, I will name it George in honour of the King; if it's a Girl, I'll name it Victoria in honour of the late Queen. But if - as I suspect - it's simply gas, then I'll name it William in memory of your good self"
A propos nothing in particular, but with an oblique reference to Marx (Karl, not Groucho), is Highlander not a Class Traitor Capitalist Lickspittle Running Dog, having traded in his Christmas Tree

for one of those silly

things? Firing squad, surely - and that's just for the boat!
