Currently in BWY black boat Pearl, Todd has a vinyl Teak and Holly floor. I'm not sure where he got the sheet material, but it is a dead ringer for the real thing and you have to look close to tell it is not wood. Easy to cut and installed with double stick tape.

Watch out for the laminates, while the top surface is very water proof, the backing is usually not and will cup when wet. We had a small water heater leak that put some water out under our hallway laminate flooring and it now has a slight cup to each board even after being well dried. Short of caulking all around the edges I doubt you could keep water from getting under it in a Mac.

Perhaps one should coat each wood panel - top, bottom and sides - with a scouple of coats of polyurethane to reduce the chance of water damage. A good semigloss will preserve the glow without looking too glaring.

I wonder how well that would protect a laminate floor that typically has a MDF backing, not wood.

Dunno... I imagine it would sink in pretty well and may take a few coats, but it would at least provide a barrier to some extent. No?

I did this years ago and I am very happy with the results, still in good shape. I love my floor, soooo easy to clean. And I do remove them when I winterize my boat because it is so easy to do it.

How about this flooring/decking. They do it in exterior and interior grades and a variety of finishes.

This may be the same as that already identified.

US distributor listed as:-
